Character History
Raven was born in the Elven Enclave of Caer Aeferlon. His childhood was spent in and around that magical isle, in the carefree manner of elven children everywhere. From an early age he knew he wanted to study martial lore, possibly even join the war band of King Aemund. However, after testing showed he had magical prowess. he was given to the tutalage of the White Tower, the school of mages in the Enclave. It was under these his latent Wild Talent came to the fore and he learned to hide his mind from prying from others. Upon his gradution, one of his tutors at the school reconising that Raven had rare talents persuaded him to enrol l in the Kings Pathfinders, that elite bunch of "scouts" that are also so often citied as the "King's Spys". He had completed three of his five years gruelling training when he was approached by Myrhynn a Knight in the "Brotherhood of the Red Dragon". During his final two years as a trainee Pathfinder, Raven was also being sounded out as a possible member of the Brotherhood. The night of his Passing Out Parade for the Pathfinders was also the night he was initiated into the Brotherhood.
One sevennight after that had occurred, Raven found himself to the SouthWest of Caer Aeferlon, near the town of Caer Aberaveron, Home of Lord Garric of the Bears. His Master, Myrhynn, had set off on a rumour that a prophecy containg details of a new High King could be found in an old tomb in the South West somewhere. Where these rumours had come from, Myrhynn was keeping tight lipped about.
The lands around the town were full of people on their way to the Llewtine celebrations being held by the Lord of the Boars in the town. For that reason, the duo avoided the town, camping to the South of the Town on the actual night Of Beltine. Their little camp was rudely awaken however, in the middle of the night by a stampede of people. From questioning various folk, it seemed the city was under attak from an un known force. Raven had seen Myhrynn thinking hard, then deciding to continue on using the cover of darkness.Just after sunrise, they had reached the main road, to find a small band of refugees beating off a band of armoured invaders. As women were part of the defenders, the two members of the Brotherhood showed no hesitation in helping out. However, when the battle was over, Myhrynn lay mortally wounded. In his dying breath he urged Raven to help out these people and then seek out news of this prophecy.
The survivors of the little band, a frail old man and a woman so bundled up in a cloak, nothing could be seen of her, were seeking a hunting lodge in the woods to the west. Here they assured Raven, there would be help awaiting them and a probable reward for him. Wishing only to carry out his old friends last request, Raven escorted them into the woods. Now several hours later, he was scouting out what appeared to be indeed a hunting lodge...
